Reaction Paper: Sarimanok's Dream

"A one night performance that can change one's insight."
That night was an unforgettable experience to witness an international repertoire of IPAG - one of the MSU-IIT's pride. They brought a one of a kind performance that an audience could ever imagine. Performers showed their God given talents undoubtedly. It can be clearly seen that they enjoyed and they loved what they are doing. A well-trained individuals we're able to present an amazing musical performance by using their flexible bodies in dancing and nice voices in singing. The set was good and it suited to the environment of the whole story. The effects of the performance can never be questioned because they make used of the new technology, it was well-prepared  and well-managed. The only problem is the main character's lines were hardly heard by the audience but still, her actions make sense.
The story was all about a bird who had a dream. This bird named Sarimanok, whose responsibility is to feed  the flock. One day, a vagabond bird accidentally stumbles on their land called Bayang Lawa. The laws they have, help keeping their land in peace and order. These laws include, never step out in their land, to never talk to vagabond birds and to be contented of what they have. This vagabond bird who accidentally came and met Sarimanok, told her about the wonderful things beyond their land. He talk about flying and told Sarimanok that she can also fly. He also talk about many other birds flying together up in the sky and fishes that is bigger and greater in number than those fishes in their land. Sarimanok became more interested in coming with the vagabond bird because she thought that the flock would be very happy because they will have a lot of fish to eat. Unluckily, her thoughts was wrong. Their flock leaders came to know about it and became very angry because it is the second time that Sarimanok disobeyed.
Sarimanok broke their tradition and disobeyed their law. Leaders decided to gave her the ultimate punishment for her transgressions-it was death. Sarimanok's head was hanged and displayed to her fellows to remind them that traditions should be kept to let it continue. The death of Sarimanok made their tradition alive. The ending may not be as much as we wanted like having the main character a happy and successful life, it became an inspiration not only to her fellows but also to the audience. It leaves us a lesson to be contented  for everything we have. Our dreams may be the best for us but we don't know what consequences  we would have. If we are determined to make our dreams come true, then we should be brave enough in to what consequences it will cause. If ever we are afraid to it's consequences, we better try to have a dream that is the best not only in our own thoughts but also in everyone around us. A dream that will build, not to destroy.

My Purpose Driven Life

"Living life with a purpose is the best way to make life worth living."
I am Gracelle Eniola Ubod. I come from Sinaguing, Ramon Magsaysay Zamboanga del Sur. I am currently residing at Tibanga, Iligan City Lanao del Norte. I was born on September 22, 1997. It has been already 16 years that I have been enjoying the beauty of life that God has given me. I finished my secondary level in Molave Vocational Technical School. It was the school who introduced to me the institute where I am standing now. I am a first year Bachelor of Elementary Education major in English student from College of Education.
It was almost 6 months that I have been staying here in Iligan and it wasn't hard for me to adjust from the environment. The difficult part is adopting the living without my parents presence. Facing the higher level of pressures and school projects in a very hectic schedule is difficult. I already expect it to happen even before the day I decided to enroll in this institution but it is because of her why I am standing firm and strong in pursuing my dreams. The one I am referring to is my mother.
My mother is an elementary teacher. Ever since I was young, I dreamed to be like her and the way she loves her teaching profession. Once she told me, if I will follow her footsteps, she would be very happy because one of her daughter will continue what she have started. It is very wonderful in my part to make my mother happy, but as I continue in coming to school and learn, I became much aware of how wonderful it is to become a teacher. Now, I have another reason of choosing this course. For me, elementary education is the foundation of all the knowledge to be learn in secondary and tertiary level. It is the starting point of education. It is a great chance and opportunity to be a part of children's foundation knowledge that will lead them to become a productive individual in the future. I am happy to have a multi-purpose driven life - to give happiness to my parents and impart a better knowledge to the growing Filipino children for a better future of   the society.
